     PROGRAMS
ESL - English Language Skills
The curriculum has been designed to give students the opportunity to focus on areas that need the most help, and with their instructor, develop an action plan that will address their individual communication needs.
TOEFL/TOEIC Preparation
This program is offered with two levels and can be taken to learn how to prepare for the new and challenging internet-based TOEFL or for those just wishing to improve their English language skills.
MELAB Preparation
MELAB stands for Michigan English Language Assessment Battery. It is an advanced-level battery (or group) of English language proficiency tests. It is for adult non-native speakers of English who will need to use English for academic purposes at the college and university level.
Medical English
This course is designed as a 12 week (300 hrs) program that can be taken in 4 week blocks. It covers the anatomy & physiology related to the body systems, standard medical abbreviations, basic pharmacology terms and abbreviations with extensive word terminology, and communication skills related to many medical fields.
BCM - Business Communication Management
Using role-playing, lecture, projects, and group work, students will receive instruction in basic business planning, resume writing, job search, and marketing.
TESOL - Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
TEC - Teaching English to Children
The TEC course will engage the student-teacher in all aspects of the syllabus through a hands-on approach.
DTI - Diploma of Translation and Interpretation
The DTI (Diploma of Translation and Interpretation) Program is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and introduce skills for bilingual individuals to explore the possibility of pursuing a professional career as a translator and/or interpreter.
HTM - Hospitality and Tourism Management
This program in Hospitality and Tourism Management enables students to customize their career experience to suit their interests and talents, and to prepare for a successful career training and employment in the hospitality and tourism sector.
